This policy applies to Xiaozhiliao, Chinese Bits while it links to this page, the related support website, and correspondence through our support email address. The two apps have separate learning goals and separate purchase products. This policy distinguishes local learning records in the apps, Apple purchase services, website logs and support email.
1. Operator and contact
The operator is Xiang Tianchi (shanghai) Industrial Development Co., Ltd (项天驰(上海)实业发展有限公司). Parents can contact support@xiangtianchi.cn with privacy, personal-information or children's-information questions.
2. Information handled by the apps
The current apps do not require registration or sign-in. They do not actively request that children provide names, profile pictures, photos, recordings, videos, contacts, precise location or identity documents, and do not upload this information to our servers. The apps do not integrate advertising, cross-app tracking, social or chat features, or third-party behavioral analytics services.
This description concerns the apps themselves. Visiting the support website or voluntarily emailing support involves the processing described below; it does not mean the website and support service process no personal information.
3. Local learning records
To support learning, review and parent access, the apps store learning progress, explored words, stars, review records and parent-entered local feedback on the current device. These records are not sent to our servers. Saving local feedback does not automatically send a support email.
Parents can reset local learning records in the parent area. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data may also remove these records. Restoring purchases restores course access verified by Apple; it does not restore local learning history.
4. Apple purchase services
The current course contains 400 words: 100 are free and the other 300 can be unlocked with a one-time Apple in-app purchase. There is no subscription or automatic renewal, and future courses are not included.
Payment, purchase verification and purchase restoration use the App Store and Apple's purchase services. Products, prices, currencies and available regions depend on the information Apple displays in the app being used; this does not make purchase entitlements interchangeable between the two apps. We do not receive full payment-card numbers or Apple Account passwords. Apple's own privacy policy and terms govern its processing for its services.
5. Children and parents
Purchases, purchase restoration, support services and external-link entry points in the apps are intended for parents after parent verification. Please do not email children's photos, recordings, identity documents, full payment information or personal information unrelated to the issue.
If a parent believes a child has provided personal information to us, or wishes to access, correct or delete information provided to support, contact the email address above. We will handle requests as required by law after verifying them. Information that must legally be retained may not be eligible for immediate deletion. Use the app's local reset function for learning records held only on the device.
6. Support website and necessary logs
The support website uses a Tencent Cloud server in Shanghai. To provide the website, troubleshoot faults and maintain network security, we process website access and error logs and relevant server authentication, service-operation and kernel logs.
Website access logs may include the source IP address, access time, requested address and URL parameters, response status, response size, referring page and browser information. Server logs may also include authentication activity, operating status and error information. These are not children's learning records uploaded by an app.
Since 16 October 2026, necessary local logs managed by us have been configured for daily rotation and compressed archiving, targeting retention of at least six calendar months. Archived files whose last modification time is more than 186 days old are removed during a subsequent daily rotation. Archives that have not reached this age are not removed early merely because the number of rotations increases. Specific records that must legally be retained longer are handled according to their applicable purpose and retention period.
This change does not mean that we already hold a complete six-month history or that earlier deleted logs are recovered. Local retention is not an off-site backup. Event records held by Tencent Cloud's basic security service are not directly controlled by this local rotation configuration; the same 186-day period must not be assumed for those records.
7. Support email and copies
When you email support, the email service receives your sender address, message and any attachments you provide. We use them to answer questions, troubleshoot issues and handle your requests.
The person responsible for operations handles support personally. Support email is received through Tencent email services and automatically forwarded or backed up to a QQ mailbox managed by that person. The operator has not granted other people access to read support emails. Continue to contact support@xiangtianchi.cn; the private QQ mailbox address is not published.
Going forward, when an issue has been resolved, follow-up is no longer necessary and there is no legal retention need, the person responsible for operations will delete the relevant emails, attachments and corresponding copies managed by us from the support and QQ mailboxes. Information that must legally be retained will be kept only as needed. This rule does not mean emails are automatically deleted when sent or when an issue is closed, or that historical emails have already been cleared.
The 186-day period for website logs is not a uniform retention period for support emails, attachments or QQ copies.
8. Service providers and updates
Apple provides App Store purchase services. Tencent Cloud and Tencent email services participate in the website operation, security and email processing described above. We remain responsible for explaining processing within this policy's scope. Providers' own processing is also subject to their applicable service rules. The apps' local learning records are not automatically uploaded to us because of these website or email services.
If we later add cloud synchronization, speech recognition, AI services, support forms, crash analytics or other new information processing, we will first update the relevant explanations, App Store privacy disclosures and necessary parental-consent processes before releasing the corresponding version. Material policy changes will be communicated through this page and app update notes.
